Course Description
This course provides product fundamentals and tasks necessary to size and implement in-system replication for Hitachi TagmaStore® Adaptable Modular Storage, Hitachi TagmaStore® Workgroup Modular Storage and Hitachi Thunder 9500™ V modular storage systems.
Participants are introduced to Hitachi ShadowImage™ In-System Replication software and Hitachi Copy-on-Write Snapshot software (formerly QuickShadow), followed by details on software specifications and theory of
operations. The participants will be able to describe corrective actions by troubleshooting the given case
scenarios. In addition, the course discusses usage of RAID Manager as a VSS provider and ISCSI
configuration/replication with ShadowImage software.
The classroom sessions are supported by lab exercises where the participants will learn to design, install,
configure and implement replication software running on specific Hitachi Data Systems storage platforms.

Prerequisites
This training requires a pre-requisite knowledge of Adaptable Modular Storage system, Workgroup Modular
Storage system and Thunder 9500 V Series systems or completion of one of the following courses:
TCI0460 – Adaptable Modular Storage/Workgroup Modular Storage Architecture and Administration
or
TCI0365 – Adaptable Modular Storage/Workgroup Modular Storage Installation and Configuration

Course Objectives

• Develop simple CCI scripts to automate software operations.
• Identify key ShadowImage In-System Replication software and Copy-on-Write software specifications and performance factors.
• Discuss key functions and operations for RAID Manager Shadow Copy provider on Windows 2003
• Compare differences between iSCSI and FC environment for implementing replication.
• Understand key considerations for SAN deployment
• Describe key ShadowImage In-System Replication software and Copy-on-Write Snapshot software troubleshooting scenarios and corrective actions.
