Course Description
The course provides detailed procedures on the installation and maintenance of the Hitachi
TagmaStore™ Universal Storage Platform and Network Storage Controller. The course provides the
learner with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully install, configure, operate, and
maintain both the Universal Storage Platform and Network Storage Controller.
The course provides an in depth examination of the components, theory of operations, hardware and
software management, and pre-staging activities, including subsystem configuration screens and
common onsite activities for the Universal Storage Platform. It also familiarizes the learners with the
key features, device management functions and RAID implementations available with the
TagmaStore systems.
The course also covers the procedures to perform initial new installation without pre-installation,
microcode exchange operations, and replacements for logic boards, power-supplies, and disk drives.
The course provides details on how to install and manage the maintenance PC connection to the
SVP and to multiple subsystems on private LAN to perform maintenance activities. It provides
specific information on the installation of Hi-Track® "call home" service for problem tracking and the
use of the Hitachi Storage Navigator to configure key software utilities and to set system and host
modes and to perform other key operations.
The course provides an extensive set of lab activities allowing the learner to gain practical knowledge
and hands on experience on installing, configuring, and maintaining both the Universal Storage
Platform and Network Storage Controller.
